Wildmoka raises $8 million for cloud video platform in funding round led by Alven
Wildmoka announced today that has raised its Series A round of venture capital as it seeks to expand its cloud video platform for publishers.
Founded in Sophia-Antipolis back in 2013, the company offers a service that allows broadcasters and content owners to clip segments of live events to share across their networks. Their growth as enough to convince Alven to lead the round, with participation from previous backer Apicap.
“We couldn’t be more excited about our partnership with Alven,” said Cristian Livadiotti and Thomas Menguy, Co-Founders of Wildmoka, said in a statement. “We now have a new ambitious partner on board, who provides us not only with capital, but also with a vast strategic experience in the high-tech sector, and a proven track record in fast growth. While the funding will help us broaden our sales focus, most importantly, it will allow us to continue driving value for our existing customers. It means they will see more innovation from us at a faster pace.”
The company has previously raised a seed round in 2016. It now counts among its customers a host of impressive media names: NBC Sports, NBC News, France Télévisions, CANAL+, FOX, Orange, beIN SPORTS, MBC Group, Altice (BFM & SFR), and the International Tennis Federation. It also has opened offices in the U.S. and Australia.
The company said it would use the money to extend its international expansion and beef up investment in its product.
